4 PM on a Sunday, my dad came upstairs to ask if I wanted to go to California for a few days..something about a “super-bloom” that he wanted to photograph. I didn’t ask any questions; I simply replied, “Yes.” He booked our flights within the hour, and we were on the plane 14 hours later.

There were three locations across southern California my dad specifically wanted to visit. Otherwise, we followed whatever orange/yellow/purple patches of flowers we spotted in the distance. It was the most spontaneous thing I’ve ever done, and I sure hope to do it again sometime.

I said Yes to quality time with my dad. Yes to going with the flow. Yes to travel. Yes to experience. Yes to spontaneity. Yes to breathtaking views.

So say Yes the next time you're asked to do something wild. You never know what you might see along the way.
